Manfred Weber

The bearded Bavarian is another German playing an important role at the heart of the EU. He’s from the Christian Social Union, which is allied to Merz’s CDU, and a member of the European Parliament. As president of the center-right European People’s Party and leader of the EPP Group in the European Parliament he has put masses of pressure on Ursula von der Leyen while she’s been president of the European Commission, notably by pushing his center-right conservative family to the right on the Green Deal.
